Description

Mobil Gargoyle Arctic SHC 226E is a fully synthetic ISO VG 68 PAO refrigeration compressor oil developed for severe operating temperatures in compressors and heat pumps. Its wax-free formulation provides excellent low-temperature fluidity, high viscosity stability and strong resistance to thermal and oxidative degradation. Low refrigerant miscibility preserves a thicker lubricating film under pressure, providing effective bearing protection and shaft sealing in ammonia and carbon-dioxide refrigeration systems. Low volatility helps reduce oil carryover and consumption, while the low traction coefficient can support improved operating efficiency. It is particularly suitable for ammonia systems and carbon-dioxide screw compressors but is incompatible with sulphur-dioxide refrigerant.
