Description

Shell Gadinia S3 40 is a high-quality SAE 40, BN 12 multifunctional diesel engine lubricant designed for severe-service main propulsion and auxiliary marine trunk-piston engines burning distillate, hybrid or biofuels containing up to 1% sulphur. Its SAE 40 viscosity provides a strong lubricating film at operating temperature, while its multifunctional formulation delivers a high FZG load-carrying capacity of Failure Load Stage 12. It helps control deposits in the piston-ring belt and cylinder liners, reducing the risk of ring sticking, breakage and liner lacquering. Excellent wear protection, oxidation resistance and water-separation performance support dependable engine operation and extended oil life. It is also suitable for selected gearboxes, clutches, deck machinery and stern tubes, helping reduce the number of specialist lubricants required onboard.
