Description

Shell Gadinia AL 40 is a premium SAE 40 marine diesel engine oil developed for highly rated medium-speed trunk-piston engines operating on distillate fuels under high-load or overload conditions. Its SAE 40 viscosity maintains a strong lubricating film at operating temperature, while its specialised formulation controls cylinder-liner lacquering and protects against bore polishing to help maintain normal oil consumption. It provides excellent piston and crankcase cleanliness, supporting engine efficiency and reliability. Its load-carrying properties also allow use in reduction gears and selected ancillary shipboard equipment where a specialised lubricant is not required. It is approved or recommended by manufacturers including Rolls-Royce Bergen, Deutz, MAN Diesel & Turbo, Wärtsilä, MaK and Simplex.
