Shell Rimula R4 L 15W-40 is a high-performance, heavy-duty multigrade diesel engine oil formulated for modern low-emission engines operating under severe on-road and off-road conditions. Its advanced additive system provides effective wear protection, piston cleanliness, soot control and resistance to oil thickening throughout the drain interval. The Low-SAPS formulation helps protect diesel particulate filters and other exhaust after-treatment systems against ash accumulation and catalyst poisoning. It is suitable for turbocharged engines fitted with exhaust gas recirculation and after-treatment technologies, as well as mixed fleets requiring broad manufacturer coverage. The oil supports reliable engine durability, emission-system efficiency and consistent performance across a wide operating-temperature range. Depending on the regional formulation, recognised performance levels include API CK-4/CJ-4 and ACEA E9/E7, together with approvals or recommendations from leading heavy-duty engine manufacturers.
