Description

Shell Argina S5 40 is a SAE 40, BN 55 multifunctional crankcase lubricant for highly rated medium-speed trunk-piston diesel engines operating on residual fuel. It is designed for the latest high-output, low-oil-consumption engines exposed to very high oil stress and has the highest detergency within the Shell Argina range. Its oxidation resistance and ability to maintain BN and viscosity help extend oil life and reduce oil sweetening. The formulation provides exceptional cleanliness of crankcases, valve decks and pistons while controlling deposits in critical areas such as piston undercrowns. Its high-detergency, low-dispersancy system also enables effective removal of water and contaminants through centrifugal separators. It is particularly suitable for engines with oil consumption below 0.5 g/kWh, load factors above 90% and fuels containing more than 3% sulphur.
