Description

Shell Alexia 70 is a high-performance BN 70, SAE 50 marine cylinder lubricant formulated for low-speed, two-stroke crosshead diesel engines operating on high-sulphur residual fuel, typically in vessels equipped with exhaust-gas scrubbers. Its strong alkalinity effectively neutralises acidic combustion products, helping protect cylinder liners and piston rings against corrosive wear. The formulation provides reliable oil distribution, strong load-carrying performance and effective deposit control to maintain piston and cylinder cleanliness. It supports dependable engine operation and longer component life when applied at the engine manufacturer’s recommended feed rate.
